About FretCrunch

FretCrunch is a comprehensive guitar fretboard reference tool built for guitarists at every level — from beginners learning their first chords to working musicians who need fast, reliable access to advanced harmony.

We built FretCrunch because we wanted a faster, more complete alternative to scattered online diagrams and incomplete reference books. The result is a single tool with 1,000+ chord diagrams, 10,000+ voicings, and 1,500+ scale patterns — all interactive, all instantly accessible.

Our goal is to make music theory approachable and practical. Whether you are learning shapes, comparing voicings, teaching a lesson, or exploring a new scale family, FretCrunch is designed to get you to the answer quickly and clearly.

Our approach

Every chord, voicing, and scale in FretCrunch is curated for accuracy and playability. We prioritize open and practical voicings first, include full CAGED position systems for scales, and provide detailed theory cards with intervals, harmonization, and related modes. The app runs entirely in the browser — no account required.
